Overview | Location

This Kingston museum showcases military communications technology from 1867 to present. Walter S. Alward Vimy Ridge Memorial original sculptures and artwork from WWI onwards as well as a working German Enigma machine.

The overall theme of the museum allocates priority for the collection, preservation and display of artifacts.

First priority is THE TROOPS, the men and women who have served and contributed toward the development of Canada in peace as well as at war. Our intent is to recognize those individuals who have made historically significant contributions and also those who, serving without particular recognition, represent the lives and experiences of the vast majority. These individuals may be represented by examples of the technologies they lived with.

THE TIMES recognises specific historical events where COMMUNICATIONS and ELECTRONICS personnel made significant contributions or were involved in major historical milestones. These may also be represented by the persons or the technology involved.

THE TECHNOLOGY aspect of the theme involves capturing the development of electronics technologies, showing how those technologies were used and how they affected events at the time, showing how our military technology has contributed to the development of Canada within and outside the military, showing the contributions made by the DEFENCE ELECTRONICS INDUSTRY and, through our providing a forum to display present and leading edge technology for the education of both members of the military and the general public.
